The Camargue Horse comes from a wet, wild, and isolated area at the terminus of the Rhone River. This unique delta region in southern France is called the Camargue.  
 
These intelligent horses are as beautiful and rugged as the swamps and Mediterranean beaches that they inhabit.  Life can be harsh for many of these semi-feral horses since they constantly must search for food.  Reed vegetation and coarse grasses are not as nutritious as regular grasses.  At times, the horses of the Camargue graze day and night.
